Timothy Williams aka OPTIMIST (US/ Irish, b. 1982)

For the last 15 years, Tim has travelled the world with the purpose of escaping routine, making new friends, exploring new cultures and leaving his mark along the way.

Growing up in the Bay to an Irish mother and an American father, Williams has been raised alongside a decaying environment of profoundly rooted culture, which materializes as an omnipresent notion of nostalgic celebration.

His work is influenced by several years spent in Taipei and the connections made in and between. His graffiti background, a love for comics & illustration as a whole as well as a habit of collecting the small day-to-day objects of life add to his multi-layered oeuvre.
